Location

Responsible for supporting literacy instruction and leading small groups, actively participating in professional development and coaching sessions, and being a role model for our young scholars. You must have completed 9th grade to be eligible for this position. Ideal applicants are committed to racial justice, educational equity and exploring teaching as a career.

Seasonal, In-Person

Philadelphia, PA

Responsible for the high-quality execution of in-person summer Freedom Schools Literacy Academy in Philadelphia and Teaching Academy, providing central oversight, training and leadership in the implementation of programming to ensure we meet goals and operate with fidelity to our mission. Works closely with the Curriculum Department and the Program Operations Department to launch, execute and continually improve programming.

Full-time, Hybrid

Hybrid – Philadelphia, PA

Will provide central operational management of Freedom Schools Literacy Academy and Teaching Academy, ensuring administrative and logistical excellence of programs. Works closely with the Training & Implementation department and the Curriculum department to launch, execute and continually improve programming.

SLAs will receive professional development, training, cycles of feedback, and individualized coaching, equipping them with the black pedagogical understandings and instructional skills. SLAs develop lesson plans aligned to the curriculum, analyze data to drive scholar outcomes, co-lead social action projects with scholars, and support Junior Servant Leaders in their professional development.
